Prenatal Breastfeeding Class: This one-session class is designed for expectant moms and their support person. It provides important information about successfully breastfeeding your baby. You’ll learn how breastfeeding works, how to develop a full milk supply, what latching is and how to position your baby so you can breastfeed without pain. You’ll learn the cues your baby will give you when he or she is hungry and how to know if your baby is getting enough milk. You also learn how to care for your breasts to prevent and treat sore nipples, engorgement and more. We will also cover your breastfeeding lifestyle—what you should avoid during breastfeeding; pumping and storing breast milk; breastfeeding outside your home; and how family members can help you during the time you are breastfeeding your baby.
