Everyone wants to be able to eat what they want and not gain weight, but sometimes, that isn’t possible. However, recent research finds that the hormone “MOTS-c” could allow your body to tolerate a high-fat diet without leading to weight gain.
The hormone works by restoring insulin sensitivity and neutralizes insulin resistance by targeting muscle tissue.
“This represents a major advance in the identification of new treatments for age-related diseases such as diabetes,” said senior author Pinchas Cohen, dean of the University of Southern California Leonard Davis School of Gerontology.
